I got me a new baby yesterday! Ami and i left the house at the butt crack of dawn yesterday. I had 2 patients to see, then had to go back home to pick up Taj, Tember and Teiger. We got on I-35 @ 9:18am and arrived at our destinantion around 1200.
Let me go back for a moment. I was not looking for a new baby. This was purely fate. (shut up non believers!) I read Jill’s blog daily. I raised Angel, Jill’s baby chihuahua. (that makes Angel my Grand-doggie!) So i love to keep track of Angel and her growth/life via Jill’s bloG. Anyway, a few days ago, i noticed a link in her blog called “chihuahua people” and clicked on it. From there, i clicked on a linked that said “puppies for sale”. There were more than 2500 chihuahua puppies for sale from all over the U.S. The 6th or 7th page of puppies i looked at had T-CUPDANTY1, 2 3 AND 4. Four little female puppies that at least in color resembled each other. They were born May 19th, 2005. I fell in love with #2 and emailed the lady for more info.
To shorten this, my loving husband, who knows how much i grieved when Tiffany died 6 years ago, and who knows my heart still hurts, told me if i wanted a puppy, he would buy it for me. I have 6 chihuahuas and i am very very fond of all of them. But there is a difference between what i feel for them and what i felt for Tiffany, who was more like a child to me.
Anyway, I made arrangements to go yesterday so see #2puppy,
but i kept an open mind for the others, knowing that a picture could be deceiving.
Well, the picture was deceiving and try as hard as i could, the spark just wasn’t there for #2. I then asked to see #4. Numbers 1 and 3 were brought in the room at the same time. #3 was the largest and was a long hair chihuahua, who “belly crawled” everywhere she went. Not at all what i was looking for. #4 had a precious face but was timid and only wanted to hide..
But #1,,, ohhhh #1! She was brought into the room and placed on the floor. She “assessed” the situation, then stood up and began curiously began surveying the room. She was friendly, outgoing and unafraid for such a teeny little thing. I KNEW right away but didn’t say anything for awhile. We played with all the puppies and i finally asked Ami, “Well, what do you think?” Ami said, “I’m thinking #1.” I said, “you know,,,so do i.” I finished the business stuff up with the breeder and we left. It took us over 4 hours to get back home because we sorta got lost and backtracked, but “baby” took it all in stride and once we got her home and on the living room floor, it was like she had always been here.
